Welcome to the Racine Radio Control Club. Please sign our Guest Book Page. Our goal is that everyone can have fun flying radio controlled model aircraft. Our club is a private corporation organized to promote safe & fun radio control model aircraft flying.
The Mount Pleasant Village Hall is located on the Northwest corner of Hwy 31 & Hwy 11 in Racine County. Take I-94 towards Racine, Wisconsin until you reach Hwy 11. Take Hwy. 11 eastbound approximately 3.5 miles until you get to the intersection of Hwy. 11 & 31.
The club flying field is located North off of Highway 20 and West of Highway H in the Village of Mt. Pleasant. This is just West of the city of Racine. Turn North onto the gravel road at the intersection of highway 20 and West Road, (at the old brown brick school house, Racine Armed Forces Center), and proceed about a half mile. You'll see our field on the right.
The public is always welcome to visit our field and spend some time watching the flying and talking to the pilots. Only members and their invited guests who are members of the AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) are eligible to fly at the club field.
If you are a newcomer to the hobby, you hopefully have taken the time to learn what equipment you should have, and where you can acquire it. Don't be afraid to ask questions of our members. They will be glad to help you get started the right way. Remember, we all started like you. Get involved! Come and talk to the membership, we'll be happy to help you understand the methods of safe and fun R/C flying, which starts in your workshop.
All new club members, and guest flyers, whatever their experience, need to familiarize themselves with the club field rules and safety policies before flying. New members, and guest flyers, irrespective of their experience, will need to pass a check flight before being permitted to fly alone.
Please review the following pages. They are set up to act as a guide to our club and to help the new flyer learn what R/C flying is all about. Click on the "Compost Duties or Grass Cutting Pages" Icons, to the left, to see the Compost Duties and Grass Cutting Schedules.
Click on the "Club Contacts" Icon, to the left to find an instructor or meet some of our officers. Click on the "Sign-up Page" Icon, to the left if you'd like to see how to join our club or just click on our logo above.
Welcome To The Racine R/C Club Home Page:

If you are having trouble getting into the Club Contacts Page on your computer you must be aware that by default, Internet Explorer 7 disables active content (JavaScript)
in local HTML files and the window.prompt JavaScript method. So to have the Club Contacts Page function properly you need to change the setup of your internet browser as described below...
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Security > Allow active content to run in files on My Computer.
Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level > Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows > Enable.
Once this is done it should work fine.

A number of club members have requested to be allowed to have informal “Pylon
Racing” sessions at the field. After discussing it with those making the request, I
have given approval to hold the events on a temporary basis until such time it is
approved by the general membership. These initial events should help work out
the “Bugs” and give the membership something to consider at the next club
meeting.
The ”Pylon Racing” events will take place on Sunday’s at 5:00 PM. Those taking
part will be flying a north / south pattern at the east end of our flying field, and the
pilots will be standing in the middle area of our field. Therefore, general
open membership flying will be curtailed during the “Pylon
Racing” events for safety reasons.
Club membership is invited to participate, or watch and encourage those who are
flying.
Participant’s planes are limited to any plane designed and sold as a .40 size glow
fuel plane. A contestant may install whatever size motor they wish.
Questions can be directed to Jim Furby, Eric Armantrout, and Ron Dixon.
Thanks - Jim L.
The 32nd Milwaukee RC Association annual auction /
swap meet is scheduled for Sunday, January 3rd,
2010. As in the past, any member who volunteers
for a 2 hour work shift results in $10 being given to
the club, and remember, volunteers do not have to
pay an entrance fee if they volunteer. We already
have 2 members who have signed up to volunteer.
The event coordinator has indicated that she will try
and accommodate any requests for work times and
work stations, but it will be on a first come, first serve
basis. There will be more information at the meeting,
but if you are unable to attend, and want to help
at the Auction / Swap meet, get hold of me and I can
get you slotted in.
